Amazon Web Services announced Thursday the launch of AWS GenAI Lofts, a global tour aimed at fostering innovation in generative artificial intelligence technology.
The initiative will bring pop-up collaborative spaces to major AI hubs worldwide, offering developers, startups and AI enthusiasts opportunities to learn, build and connect with industry experts.
The tour will operate as a traveling residency, setting up in technology centers for up to 12 weeks. It kicks off July 29 in Bengaluru, India, followed by an eight-week stint in San Francisco starting August 12. The tour will then move to São Paulo, London and Paris.
Visitors can expect immersive experiences showcasing cutting-edge AI projects, workshops, fireside chats and hands-on programming from AI experts, community groups, AWS partners and venture capital investors.
The initiative builds on AWS's recent $230 million commitment to accelerate the creation of generative AI applications by startups globally.
"I'm always inspired by the way in-person events spark new ideas when we bring together builders, startups, investors, AWS experts and our partners," said Adam Seligman, AWS vice president of developer experience. "By creating these hubs of activity, we aim to accelerate the development of generative AI technologies and foster a truly global community of creators."
Each location will feature daily events with AI experts and thought leaders, including machine learning data scientists. Visitors can also access an "Ask an Expert Bar" staffed by AWS Solutions Architects.
