Data Storage Corporation (DTST) announced Monday the opening of its seventh data center in Chicago, expanding its geographic footprint and service capabilities in the Midwest.
The Melville, New York-based company, which provides business continuity solutions including disaster recovery and cloud infrastructure, said the new facility will help meet growing customer demand in the region.
Chuck Paolillo, chief technology officer of DSC's subsidiary CloudFirst, said the Chicago data center adheres to high standards for disaster recovery, cloud infrastructure reliability and cybersecurity.
"We expect this new location will allow us to further penetrate the Midwest region and illustrates our geographic diversity in the United States," Paolillo said.
CEO Chuck Piluso emphasized the strategic importance of the new facility, stating it will provide greater geographic coverage and more reliable services for current and future cloud infrastructure customers.
"We continually strive to meet or exceed our customer expectations and we believe that this move demonstrates our commitment to excellence," Piluso said.
The company did not disclose the size of the investment or specific details about the new data center's capacity.
Data Storage Corporation, which trades on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol DTST, offers a range of IT services including cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and IT automation.
The Chicago facility joins the company's existing network of data centers across the United States.
