Dremio, a unified lakehouse platform for self-service analytics and AI, announced Wednesday new capabilities ensuring its market-leading Apache Iceberg lakehouse is the most flexible, fast and easy-to-use for every data environment. At its Subsurface Live event, Dremio unveiled partner collaborations bringing the lakehouse to cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments, including highly regulated and air-gapped networks.
VAST Data introduced the Zero Trust Lakehouse Platform with Dremio, while STACKIT will offer European organizations a fully-managed open lakehouse service meeting data residency rules. Dremio, the top SQL engine for Iceberg, said it's becoming even faster and easier. Its Reflections Query Acceleration technology now provides sub-second BI. Enhancements include optimal acceleration recommendations, scheduled Reflections for up-to-date data access, and incremental updates streamlining management and reducing costs.
The company reaffirmed its open-source commitment by incorporating Nessie, simplifying data engineering with Git-like workflows on lakehouse data. Users can now run production workloads with end-to-end Dremio support for a Nessie-native Iceberg catalog. Dremio also introduced generative AI capabilities streamlining data discovery and analysis, including natural language Text-to-SQL queries and advanced data descriptions and labeling. Partnerships with Dataiku and DataRobot help accelerate the AI lifecycle. "Teams need easy self-service tools to swiftly extract value from data," said Dremio CEO Sendur Sellakumar. "As the leading Iceberg lakehouse provider, we're continually advancing core capabilities to help global customers meet critical objectives."
Additionally, Dremio announced preview support for AWS Graviton, instantly delivering over 30% better performance and cost savings.
