NetApp, a data infrastructure company, announced new capabilities Tuesday aimed at helping customers manage complex workloads like generative AI and VMware environments across hybrid multicloud systems.

The company introduced several enhancements to its data and storage services, including:

- BlueXP Workload Factory for AWS, which automates resource management for key workloads using industry best practices.

- A GenAI Toolkit for Microsoft Azure NetApp Files, allowing customers to incorporate private data into AI workflows securely.

- A reference architecture for Amazon Bedrock with Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, providing guidance on implementing AI-enabled workflows.

- Enhancements to Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP, offering increased scalability and flexibility.

- Expanded disaster recovery support for VMFS datastores in the BlueXP disaster recovery service.

These updates build on NetApp's existing offerings, including its recently announced free BlueXP data classification capability for all customers.

Pravjit Tiwana, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cloud Storage at NetApp, said, "NetApp is helping customers take back control of their data with intelligent data infrastructure that leverages unified data storage, integrated data services, and automated cloud operations. Even when they are up against specific and nuanced technology requirements for modern workloads, NetApp gives them the tools they need to optimize and simplify their data operations in their environments across the hybrid multicloud."

The new capabilities are designed to address the growing complexity of managing strategic workloads in hybrid multicloud environments. By automating processes and optimizing resource allocation, NetApp aims to help customers reduce risks and resource requirements associated with these data-intensive applications.

As organizations increasingly adopt AI and virtualized environments, NetApp's enhancements reflect the evolving needs of businesses seeking to balance innovation, cost efficiency, and data security in their cloud strategies.
