NetApp and Lenovo announced Tuesday a new converged infrastructure solution optimized for generative artificial intelligence workloads, called the NetApp AIPod with Lenovo ThinkSystem servers for NVIDIA OVX.
The companies say the pre-integrated system will make AI more accessible and affordable for enterprises by simplifying deployment and scaling of large language models and related AI applications.
NetApp, a data storage and management company, is contributing its robust storage systems and hybrid cloud data capabilities. Lenovo is providing its high-performance ThinkSystem SR675 V3 servers certified for NVIDIA's OVX architecture, along with NVIDIA GPUs and networking.
The combined solution allows enterprises to combine the power of large AI models with their own proprietary data for use cases like chatbots, knowledge management and object recognition, without the cost and complexity of building AI infrastructure from scratch.
"The NetApp AIPod… transforms enterprise AI by accelerating deployment and scaling of generative AI workloads," said Sandeep Singh, a NetApp senior vice president.
NVIDIA's Bob Pette said the platform "offers an AI-ready solution that's powerful and easy to use, enabling businesses to drive innovation."
The companies have partnered for over 5 years and say the new offering takes the relationship to "the next level" amid rising enterprise demand for generative AI capabilities.
The NetApp AIPod with Lenovo for NVIDIA OVX will be available this summer.
