Progress, the trusted provider of infrastructure software, announced Wednesday that PruTech, a global IT services company, leveraged Progress' DataDirect connectors to accelerate and scale cloud migration in data-sensitive environments, saving customers months of development time.
PruTech provides digital transformation expertise to clients via IT services like cloud migration, application development, cybersecurity and custom app building. When a major healthcare insurer requested a solution to migrate hundreds of applications with sensitive data to the cloud, PruTech relied on DataDirect's industry-leading data connectivity, high privacy and security standards, and streamlined development.
"DataDirect was exactly the technology we needed to make the project a success and we knew it from the beginning," said Birender Saini, EVP at PruTech's GoDgtl products and solutions unit.
PruTech built a solution called Secure Database Gateway, an industry-agnostic ODBC/JDBC gateway. It connects applications to databases with maximum interoperability while enforcing data encryption to prevent unauthorized access. It inspects queries in real-time, analyzing and blocking suspicious data requests. DataDirect technology also enabled centralized management, monitoring and scaling of the cloud migration from one to hundreds of apps, saving months of dev time.
"Staggering data is generated daily, providing extraordinary opportunity to better understand customers and markets," said John Ainsworth, Progress EVP and Application/Data Platform GM. "But connecting and protecting this data is crucial, which PruTech understands."
Used by enterprises and leading analytics, BI and data management vendors, DataDirect connectors enable easy integration across leading platforms so organizational data can drive better decisions. Progress provides standards connectivity via JDBC, ODBC, OData and ADO.NET.
