Pure Storage, a data storage technology company, announced major innovations June 19 aimed at helping customers accelerate artificial intelligence deployments, improve cyber resilience and modernize applications.

The company unveiled new AI storage as-a-service offerings, including Evergreen//One for AI, which provides guaranteed storage performance for GPU workloads like training, inference and high-performance computing. It introduces the ability to purchase based on dynamic performance and throughput needs.

"Pure is redefining enterprise storage with a single, unified data storage platform that can address virtually all enterprise storage needs including the most pressing challenges and opportunities IT leaders face today, like AI and cyber resilience," said Charles Giancarlo, Pure's chairman and CEO.

Pure also announced plans to become a certified storage solution for NVIDIA's DGX SuperPOD by year's end, simplifying integration and deployment of large-scale AI training and inference. Its high energy efficiency could help overcome power constraints.

Another key announcement was Pure's industry-first generative AI copilot for storage management and data protection. The AI assistant guides storage teams through complex performance, management and security issues, leveraging insights from tens of thousands of Pure customers.

Other innovations include Pure Fusion unified storage pools that dynamically optimize across data types and environments, and secure application workspaces with granular access controls for integrating enterprise data with AI clusters.

The advances come as companies struggle to future-proof storage for rapidly evolving AI needs, according to a Pure survey of 1,500 global IT leaders. Ninety-eight percent said data infrastructure must improve to support AI initiatives.
