SingleStore, a real-time data platform provider, announced new offerings aimed at improving access to frozen data in lakehouses and enhancing capabilities for intelligent applications.
The company introduced a bi-directional integration with Apache Iceberg, addressing the challenge of utilizing an estimated 90% of data that remains unusable in lakehouses. This integration, available in public preview, allows customers to create external tables in SingleStore based on Iceberg data, potentially unlocking vast amounts of previously inaccessible information.
In addition to the Iceberg integration, SingleStore revealed several other enhancements:
- Faster vector search, with improvements of up to 40% compared to previous releases and performance gains over competitors like pgvector and Milvus.
- Enhanced full-text search capabilities, including improved relevance scoring, phonetic similarity, and fuzzy matching.
- Autoscaling features in public preview, allowing automatic adjustment of compute resources to manage unpredictable workloads.
- A new "bring your own cloud" deployment option called Helios, currently in private preview for AWS, enabling customers to use SingleStore's managed cloud offering within their own virtual private clouds.
These updates aim to simplify data architectures and improve performance for generative AI and real-time applications.
SingleStore CEO Raj Verma stated, "Our vision has always been to provide one single data store for all companies to be able to take advantage of speed, scale and simplicity. Our data platform is designed to unlock all types of enterprise data — including data that is frozen in data lakes — to enable our customers to build modern intelligent apps."
The company reported surpassing $100 million in annual recurring revenue at the end of 2023 and recently received five TrustRadius Top Rated Awards for 2024, including recognition in the vector database category.
